The Cabo Blanco Resort property is located on 160 acres in Malpais, along the Pacific Ocean coastline of Guanacaste in Costa Rica. The resort property is positioned directly adjacent to the 2,800 acre Cabo Blanco National Park at the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula.
Planned for this unique location is a boutique hotel complete with 30 Guest Villas, Eco Homes, a Clubhouse, Restaurant and Luxury Spa facilities. The hotel, clubhouse and restaurant will be located at mid-elevation on the property, with commanding views for miles in all directions of the forest, coastline and Pacific Ocean.
Over 147 acres of the property is designed to be preserved as natural undeveloped open space. Total construction density is being limited to less than 8 percent. Guests and Owners will enjoy the benefit of an extensive trail network winding through the native semi-tropical forests, along the shoulders of wild, lush watercourses, flowing to the dramatic coastline, with the opportunity to explore the rich diversity and natural beauty of this remarkable setting. The resort will enjoy direct access to over one kilometer of Old World coastline complete with secluded groupings of quiet beachside Palapas, designed to provide an extraordinary experience.
Electric powered vehicles are proposed as the preferred mode of transportation on the property for guests, owners and service personnel alike. Solar collection elements will be utilized to reduce the resort's dependence on traditional electrical sources.
Project security structures, planned for June 2018, will include the construction of a simple, effective Ranger Station and Entry Gate. Round-the-clock monitoring of the project entrance will preserve the property in its virtually untouched condition.
The Stage 1 road improvements are underway, final survey operations are nearing completion and the road contractor selection process is well advanced. Stage 2 road extensions will follow. Homesite Pad Grading and underground services installations will be integrated into these operations. All project roads and infrastructure are expected to be complete by April, 2019.
Construction of the Resort Welcome Center, which includes the Guest Reception area and related support facilities, is scheduled to begin in November 2019, in preparation for Resort Construction start-up immediately following in October. The resort grand opening is slated for 2020. Future development of 30 Eco sensitive homes are included, to compliment and take advantage of the resort property's amenities. Eden Roc Co. General Contractors from the San Francisco Bay Area with 35 years of high level custom construction experience will be providing project oversight.
There is a deep commitment to the local community for educational assistance and employment opportunities during construction and through the opening and operation of the resort.
An educational alliance is in place with the Cabo Blanco National Park to assist with their research projects and maintenance efforts of the coastal zone. Environmental learning opportunities and field trips for Resort Guests will be offered to enrich understanding of this unique ecosystem.
